Hello everybody and a warm welcome to Year of the Novel Online.
Throughout the year we’ll dig deep and get to know your characters and story intimately within the YON framework.
No doubt we all know that the cornerstone of productive writing practice is self-motivation, so while I will be supporting you and cheering madly every step of the way, it is up to you to come online and check things out regularly.
Before we begin, we’d invite you to watch this special welcome from course creator, Kim Wilkins.

WHERE TO FROM HERE?
This course is broken down into fortnightly blocks of content and exercises, designed to take you through the process of writing the novel from beginning to end. Each fortnight of content goes live at Midnight on the listed date, and contains a lesson from Kim along with supporting material and exercises. You work through each week’s content in your own time, day or night.
Writing a novel is a long process, so we’d encourage you to make use of the course forums via the the direct link on the AWM Forums page or using the Forum tabs above.
Any questions you’d particularly like Natasha to answer should go in the Q&A Forum. Due to my her own work commitments, Natasha isn’t able to comment on your writing outside of the assignments as part of the course, but there are plenty of opportunities for feedback built into the coming year. If you need feedback quickly, there are dedicated spaces on the forums allowing you to trade work and feedback with your fellow novelists in this course.
