Pitching Now Open
The GenreCon Pitching Program is your chance to sit down with an editor or agent to talk about your completed manuscript. We’ve got editors and agents representing a diverse range of genres accepting pitches across Saturday and Sunday of the conference.
Applications for pitching spots will be open until 5:00 PM, October 7. You can apply, and find out more information about the editors and agents involved, on the pitching program info page.
Last Call for Registration
Registrations for this year’s GenreCon have been coming in thick and fast over the last few weeks, which means we’re starting to hit our upper limits on catering and venue capacity at this year’s conference. At time of writing, there are exactly 11 spots left at this year’s conference, and once they’re gone, we can’t add any new registrations.
Pre-registration closes at 5 pm on Tuesday, October 8th. If we sell out of spots before the con, there will be no tickets available at the door.
October 8th is also the final date to register for the Opening Night Reception or the Cutlasses and Kimonos Banquet with Chuck Wendig. Tickets to these events will not be sold at the conference.
GenreCon Calls Emerging Writers !
Brisbane publisher Tiny Owl Workshop is sponsoring two spots for emerging writers experiencing financial hardship to attend this year’s GenreCon.
The competition is open to any active QWC member who has not yet professionally published a novel, with the two winners receiving free registration to this year’s GenreCon writing conference and the Friday night welcoming party.
To enter, send us a 200-250 word sample of your writing along with a short paragraph on why you’d like to attend this year’s GenreCon. Entries close Monday, October 7, 2013. Email entries to [email protected] with “Tiny Owl Emerging Writers” in the subject line.
