Kim Wilkins 2smThis week at the AWM writing race, we will be introducing 2015’s first Guest Race Captain of the 2015 Writing Race series. Our Guest Captains give racers the chance to talk writing and publishing with industry experts, and our fist special guest for 2015 is award-winning author Kim Wilkins, who writes across a number of different genres, including young adult and speculative fiction, as well as contemporary epic romances under the pseudonym Kimberley Freeman. She also teaches at the University of Queensland in the field of writing, editing and publishing.

Having published 26 novels, Kim is a master of freewriting. Her recent TEDx Talk on cultivating creativity is an amazing resource for upcoming writers, exploring how social media has influenced the writing craft. She also offers a range of writing tips on her website and on facebook.

So come join us at the Writing Race this Wednesday night, where we’ll be kicking off our Q&A with Kim from 7:45 PM and enjoying an hour of writing from 8:00 PM on.

Tristram Peters is a sports-loving wheelchair-user, currently studying a Masters in Writing, Editing and Publishing at the University of Queensland.
