Last week, The Australian Writer’s Marketplace hosted Australia’s inaugural conference for Australian genre writers, GenreCon. From Friday 2 to Sunday 4 November, a passionate group of genre writers and industry professionals joined together to celebrate genre writing in all its forms.

GenreCon 2012 was a huge success and we were thrilled to share the weekend with so many talented writers. We had fantastic pitch outcomes (congratulations to everyone who successfully pitched over the weekend), lively audience participation at all of our panels and workshops, wonderful cross-genre bonding, and we trended on Twitter! Thanks to everyone who joined us at GenreCon and shared their knowledge, skills and passion for all things genre with us; we couldn’t have done it without you!

In the wake of such a terrific event, we wanted to share some of the wonderful blog posts written by GenreCon attendees:

If you’ve written a GenreCon blog post that we’ve missed, please let us know so we can add you to the list. Also, please share your photos from the event with us on Facebook or by emailing them to [email protected]. You can also check out our photos of GenreCon on AWM’s Facebook page.

AWM is thrilled to announce GenreCon 2013 will be held in Brisbane! Keep an eye on the GenreCon website for more details.

The Australian Writer’s Marketplace is Australia and New Zealand’s only guide to the writing industry. While providing submission and contact details for the print media and publishing industry.
