Here it is again: all the round-ups and lists of the year’s best books that we could find.
The Sydney Morning Herald’s Best Of.
The New York Times Best Books of 2007
The Times has a best-of for kids and teenagers, thrillers, and lists of recommendations from critics Peter Kemp and Kate Saunders.
Salon.com Book Awards for 2007.
Salon’s also got a list of Best Graphic Novels, a seasonal guide to Coffee Table Books, and a writers-filmmakers-cool people best-of list.
Publisher’s Weekly Best of 2007.
The Guardian Pick of the Paperbacks 2007 – that’s the critics’ list.
The Guardian also has authors choosing their Christmas Past, Present and Future Books (not sure what the story is there), and it comes in parts 1, 2, and 3.
The Observer has a similar deal, with writers and cultural figues picking out "the best thing we’ve read all year", in parts 1 and 2.
In a slightly different take on it, the ABC’s blog, Articulate, asks for readers to nominate their favourite book, movie, or other significant pop culture event. Responses can be found in the comments section.
There’s a monster collection of best books lists over at the US blog, The Millions, too:
